My Dance Photos in the News
David Dorfman Dance is performing at The Joyce this weekend. Prophets of Funk is a really fun evening-length work to music by Sly & the Family Stone that I photographed at Jacob’s Pillow last summer. So a lot of the articles about the company’s NYC performances feature my photos. Here’s where I’ve popped up in the news recently:

Jacob’s Pillow on my Mind
Coincidentally, the Pillow has been on my mind a lot lately. I just went to see the premiere of Never Stand Still, a terrific movie about the festival and the amazing artists who participate, and celebrated with Director of Preservation Norton Owen, who was honored with the “Dance in Focus” film award. Congratulations, Norton!
Not only that, but the Pillow just emailed me a few copies of my work in Style Acura magazine and The Daily Gazette. I’m always happy to see my photos in print—any artist wants his work to be seen!—but receiving these articles and remembering David Dorfman’s performances last festival also got me more excited about the upcoming season and all this summer has in store.
Style Acura’s culture spread:

Schenectady’s Daily Gazette used one of my photos of Laboratory Dance Project in its ”best-of” list for dance performances in 2011. (A show I loved, and Amy guest-reviewed for my blog last summer.)

So now I’m getting more and more psyched for the 80th anniversary season. I’ve already been tossing around several new ideas for this summer’s weekly Pillow blog series. Which performances are you excited about? I can’t wait. =)
