Christopher Duggan

Christopher Duggan is principal photographer of Christopher Duggan Photography, a New York City-based wedding and dance photography studio. Christopher and his team cover Manhattan's finest wedding venues, the Metropolitan, Tri-State areas and the Berkshires, and frequently travels to destination weddings. The company's mission is straightforward and heartfelt - create timeless, memorable images of brides, grooms, their families and friends, and capture special moments of shared love, laughter and joy.

Christopher has been the Festival Photographer for Jacob’s Pillow Dance since 2006. In this capacity, and as a respected New York-based dance photographer, he has worked with renowned choreographers and performers of international acclaim as well as upstarts in the city’s diverse performance scene. He has photographed WestFest at Cunningham Studios, Dance From the Heart for Dancers Responding to Aids, The Gotham Dance Festival at The Joyce Theater, and assisted Nel Shelby Productions in filming Vail International Dance Festival.

Duggan often teams up with his talented wife and Pillow videographer Nel Shelby. A New York City-based husband and wife dance documentation team, they are equipped to document performances, create and edit marketing videos and choreography reels, and much more.

He is a regular contributor to 4dancers.org and the Culture section of Huffington Post and his photographs appear in The New York Times, Destination I Do, Photo District News, Boston Globe, Financial Times, Dance Magazine, Munaluchi Bridal, and Bride & Bloom, among other esteemed publications and popular wedding blogs. One of his images of Bruce Springsteen was added to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's celebrated photography collection in 2010. His company has been selected for inclusion in “The Listings” in New York Weddings magazine. Christopher's images from Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival's Inside/Out have been chosen by the National Museum of Dance for a year-long photographic exhibition beginning this May.

Lindsey & Del | Veritas Vineyard Wedding in Charlottesville, VA

Another Dance and Wedding Connection

I met Lindsey when she interned at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival in the summer of 2008, and she has been very supportive of my photography in both the dance and wedding worlds. She met Del while they were both in college at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, and I think they may have been planning their wedding from the first moment they laid eyes on each other…

An incredibly classy Virginia Vineyard Wedding

I am so grateful to have participated in the amazing start of Lindsey and Del’s marriage. Not only was it great fun to spend time with Pillow friends and support Lindsey on her special day, but their Charlottesville, Virginia vineyard wedding was nothing short of spectacular.

They said their vows in the lovely St. Pauls of Ivy church, and then husband and wife, wedding party and guests headed to Veritas, a nearby vineyard, to celebrate their union.

A terrific jazz quartet played as guests mingled and drank apple cider cocktails and tasted the vineyard’s fine wines. The reception room was draped in beautiful sheer white fabric and resplendent with lush navy and orange flower arrangements. And the dazzling details didn’t end there—Lindsey and Del made their grand entrance accompanied by fireworks!

The Wedding Weekend Spent with Warm Family and Friends

Lindsey and Del knew that many of their guests had traveled from out of town, so they made sure to fill the weekend with plenty of food and fun, taking lots of time out to seek out one-on-one moments with all their friends and family. A rehearsal dinner and welcome toast at the Colonnade Club on the University of Virginia campus started the weekend with a giddy warmth that permeated throughout.

Not only was the wedding gorgeous, but the professionals working the event were superbly talented. Shout out to rockstar wedding planner Kennon Ibbeken! One of the most amazing planners I’ve ever worked with as a wedding photographer.
